Summary: Sorcify does not collect or store your data. All processing happens locally in your browser, except for optional leaderboard stats, which are deleted weekly.

Thank you for using Sorcify, a Chrome extension designed to help recruiters streamline candidate evaluation, sourcing, and interview analysis using AI. This privacy policy explains how we handle your data when you use the Sorcify extension. No personal data is stored or tracked by Sorcify servers. All data remains local to your browser, except for optional leaderboard stats, which are deleted weekly.

1. Information We Collect

Sorcify does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to our servers.

All data processed by Sorcify—including job descriptions, LinkedIn profile data, AI prompts, and interview transcripts—remains local to your Chrome browser. We do not access, log, or share any of your data.

2. Use of OpenAI API

Sorcify integrates with the OpenAI API to generate scoring, messaging, and summaries.

You provide your own OpenAI API key.
Your key is stored locally in your browser via Chrome's local storage.
Your data is sent directly from your device to OpenAI via their API and is subject to OpenAI's data usage policy.
OpenAI provides maximum security for inputs and outputs (any data you send and receive through the API does not get stored or used by OpenAI).
We do not intercept, log, or relay any of your data.

3. Permissions Required

Sorcify requests the following Chrome extension permissions:

activeTab: To analyze the LinkedIn profile you're currently viewing.
scripting: To extract relevant content from LinkedIn Recruiter for scoring.
storage: To save your job descriptions and settings locally.

These permissions are required solely for the functionality of the extension. No information is ever sent to a remote server controlled by Sorcify.

4. No Analytics or Tracking

We do not run analytics, telemetry, or user tracking in any form. We do not store any of your data beyond your email address for the purpose of signing in. Sorcify does not log your usage, activity, or personal data. If you opt in to the leaderboard, only your email address and weekly activity stats (#jobs worked on, #candidates scanned/interviewed) are sent to our Supabase server, and are permanently deleted every Monday.

5. Data Retention

All data stored by Sorcify (e.g., your job descriptions, interviews, settings) is kept in your local browser storage and can be deleted by:

Clearing your Chrome extension data
Uninstalling the Sorcify extension
Deleting/clearing cookies
Deleting jobs through Sorcify

We do not retain any backups or copies of your data.

6. Third-Party Services

Aside from direct use of the OpenAI API, Sorcify does not interact with or rely on third-party services. OpenAI's API usage is governed by their own privacy policy.

7. Changes to This Policy

If we ever decide to make amendments, you will be notified within the extension and given a choice before any such features are activated.
